Albert O'Hara (1905-?)

11 year old Albert O'hara was swimming with Lester Stillwell the day of the attacks and by all accounts was one of Lester's best friends. He was apparently hit by the shark just before it attacked Lester. He lived with his family on 75 Main Street in Matawan. Below are the census records of his family while they lived in Matawan from 1910, 1920, and 1930. Albert's father Michael passed away between 1920 and 1930. The O'Hara family moved out of Matawan sometime between 1930 and 1950. I spoke with longtime Matawan Resident Jim Shea and he does not recall the O'Hara's. I found Albert's brother William in the SSDI. He passed away in Bergan County NJ in 1971, but might have spent time living in New York. I am planning on doing more research on the O'Hara's. I know that Albert's uncle James O'Hara, still has living relatives in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
